Perception Of Pain

$400.00
sold out

24x30 ACRYLIC ON CANVAS

ORIGINAL OF DANTE CAMPUDONI

I created this piece to reflect on the idea of suffering and the human condition, it's evident that while suffering is often seen as a unwanted aspect of life can serve as a catalyst for transformative experiences.

My painting depicts the change of perception of suffering by illustrating how emanates from within and can be transformed, I created this painting with two quotes in mind from Gogh and Dostoevsky "the more you love the more you suffer" and the latter "pain and suffering are always inevitable for a large intelligence and a deep heart"

As a society today we tend to foster a aversion to suffering, with a emphasis on instant gratification, we no longer love the relief of a hard working day and evade discomfort at all cost.

The pursuit of a pain free existence often leads to a contradictory outcome more anxiety, depression and a stunt in emotional/personal growth and limits our capability of understanding that comes from overcoming challenges.

By choosing short term relief we may inadvertently prolong our own anguish
